Event Description
Acorn Energy Co-op Holds Benefit for its Education Series
Two popular a cappella groups, Middlebury College’s Stuck in the Middle and area favorite Maiden Vermont will be performing at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 17 at the Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Society at 2 Duane Court in Middlebury. The performance is part of a “solar celebration” fundraiser to benefit the Acorn Renewable Energy Co-op’s monthly education series.
Over the past 18 months, the Energy Co-op’s series has highlighted solar and other energy issues – from energy audits and weatherization methods to alternative fuels and solar installation. The Energy Co-op and the Addison County Regional Planning Commission have collaborated on the monthly series and nearly all of the presentations have been taped and archived for public access on Middlebury Community Television.
The Energy Education Series has covered key energy issues – and solutions – facing Vermont and contributed to our community’s involvement in building a sustainable future through local energy sources.
Admission is by a suggested donation of $10 per person. A reception featuring chocolate and other delicacies will follow the performance.
Parking is available at the Middlebury Union High School and Handicap Accessible parking is available behind the Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Society (CVUUS) Fenn House.
