Richard Goode, pianoDescription
Pianist Richard Goode has been hailed for performances of tremendous emotional power, depth, and expressiveness, and acknowledged worldwide as one of today's leading interpreters of Classical and Romantic music. According to the New York Times, "It is virtually impossible to walk away from one of Mr. Goode's recitals without the sense of having gained some new insight, subtly or otherwise, into the works he played or about pianism itself." Goode performs works by Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Debussy, and Schumann on Middlebury's new Steinway piano, which he helped select. Associate Professor of Music Larry Hamberlin offers a pre-concert lecture at 2:15 PM in Room 221. Sponsored by the Performing Arts Series and the Office of the President. Reserved Seating.
