174 years ago, Frederick Douglass delivered his famous speech, "What to the Slave is the 4th of July?" in Rochester, New York. Today, this striking oration remains one of the greatest indictments of American slavery.
Join Rokeby Museum on July 5th from 1 to 3 pm for a free community reading celebrating Douglass’ momentous speech led by esteemed singer and actor, writer and teacher, Dr. François Clemmons.
