Seeking that Magical All-Arounder

Posted: 08/21/2025

We are seeking that magical, capable person who can join a fun, productive, and hard-working team at the UVM Morgan Horse Farm.

The ideal candidate enjoys working outside around large animals and connecting with our many guests and students who come to learn about our Vermont State Animal, the Morgan horse. Horse-enthusiasts are welcome but not a requirement; we just need you to be able and willing to learn our routines and a willingness to jump right in.

We have 30-40 hours available to the right person who is a fit for both daily chores taking care of the horses and barns, some general maintenance, and two gift-shop shifts a week between now and the end of October. Hours are from 7:30am-4:30pm, with at least one weekend shift. Pay is commensurate on experience, and the range is in the high-teens to low twenties per hour.

We are looking for candidates with professional communication skills, customer service experience, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Must be able to work independently, push and lift fifty pounds, and stand/walk for much of the day. Flexibility and dependability are a must. This is a temporary, non-benefits eligible position that will go through the end of 2026 and will again be a need in summer 2027, (May-October).

Candidates should email uvmorgan@UVM.edu for more information, or call (802) 388-2011.
