Special Educator - 1-year position
Addison Northwest School District is seeking a 1.0 FTE certified Special Educator at Vergennes Union Middle & High School to support students with a variety of special needs for the FY27 school year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assess students’ skills to determine their needs, develop teaching plans, and adapt lessons
Plan, organize, and assign activities that are specific to each student’s abilities
Develop Individual Education Plans for each student, implement and update IEPs, assess students’ performance, and track/measure their progress and goals
Teach students as a class, small group, and/or one-to-one setting
Discuss students’ progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators
Supervise para-educators who work with students with disabilities
Prepare and help students transition from grade to grade and life after graduation
Work as a contributing member to many school teams
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree Preferred:Master's degree
- License:Vermont Professional Educator’s License
- Experience:1 or more years
- FTE:1.0
