Phoenix Feeds & Nutrition, Inc., a leading manufacturer of conventional animal feed serving New England and Upstate New York, is seeking a skilled and motivated Feed Mill Lead Maintenance Technician to join our team in New Haven, Vermont. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
  • Perform and oversee repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment such as conveyors, mixers, grinders, and bucket elevators.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain and repair facility infrastructure to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, HACCP guidelines, and GMP standards.
  • Manage maintenance schedules, work orders, and inventory of tools and spare parts.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or equipment upgrades.
  • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities and communicate issues to management.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in equipment upgrades.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a feed mill or agricultural setting.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in maintenance software and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to lift 55+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
  • Experience with PLCs and automated systems is a plus.
  • Welding and fabrication capabilities are a plus.
  • Familiarity with feed production processes and agricultural equipment is a plus.

Offered compensation:
$25/hr - $35/hr
