About CSAC

Our mission: By offering comprehensive services and supports for social and emotional well-being, CSAC helps nurture communities where individuals and families thrive. 

CSAC is a private, non-profit community mental health agency. As part of Vermont’s Designated Agency system, our catchment area is Addison County, a beautiful area on the shores of Lake Champlain. 

CSAC serves about 2,000 clients per year with mental health, substance abuse, and developmental services. About half of our clients are children and their families. The other half are adults who seek our services to support productive lives with intellectual disabilities, brain injuries, and serious mental health conditions. We provide the full spectrum of mental health needs: office-based outpatient therapy, residential programs, case management services, and a variety of community based services, including 24/7/365 crisis response. Our budget is approximately $32 million and we employ around 300 staff.

About the job
The position is responsible for leading the agency in fulfilling our mission. Key areas include: 

  • Foster an environment which embodies the values of people-centered care, collaboration, innovation, equity, and diversity. 
  • Support a commitment to program excellence and quality services. 
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual and legal obligations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key community partners
  • Represent CSAC interests and mission in a variety of forums, including with local and state lawmakers and other key regulators
  • Oversee a complex financial situation with a diverse array of funding sources and accompanying regulatory requirements.

  • Engagement, community support, and fundraising
The Executive Director reports to CSAC’s Board of Directors, an exceptional group of volunteers. 

About You
The ideal candidate would possess most of the following qualifications: 
  •  A master’s degree in a relevant field
  • 5 – 7 years of senior management experience.
  • A history of creative, values-based executive performance in a human services field.  Familiarity with Vermont’s system of mental health care is preferred.
  • Experience with business and finance operations for programs extensively involved in government funding and regulation, especially Medicaid. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex programs and budgets in a non-profit environment
  • High level interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with strategic planning in a dynamic health care environment 
Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $170,00 to $180,000 with competitive benefits package including generous paid time off, retirement, health, dental, life and disability insurances as well as on-site gym, educational loan assistance, and much more.
